El Morfi Restaurant Review:
The unassuming, family-operated El Morfi has fostered a loyal following through friendly service, low prices and good Argentine cooking. With a smart, contemporary décor and Malbec pouring freely, this is a comfortable neighborhood spot. An open kitchen turns out empanadas, blood sausages and crispy mollejas (sweetbreads). Try the parrillada, a typical Argentine mixed grill platter with pork chops, New York steak, short ribs and chicken. We also like the chicken or beef Milanese and the Argentine pizza called fugazetta, such as the oregano-scented version, which has no tomato sauce. Pastas are available too. On weekends, the featured special is a heaping plate of authentic and reasonably priced paella. Leave room for dessert: flan, bread pudding or crêpes, all made with dulce de leche.
