Elephant & Castle Restaurant Review:
There's one of these cheery saloons in Dublin (though it’s named after an area in London) as well as this outpost in the Village. With its simple menu and efficient service, it is a perfect pit stop for shoppers in the daytime and, since it's open until midnight, for night-owls, too. Among the dozen omelets, we enjoy the "Gold’n Green" with spinach and cheddar, and also the poached eggs with balsamic jus and fresh tarragon. The "Elephantburger" is a charcoal-grilled beauty topped with curried sour cream, bacon, cheddar, tomato and scallions, while the supreme dessert is "Scarlett O’Hara’s Coffee Cantata," a bounteous offering of coffee ice cream, raspberries, hot fudge and whipped cream.
