Elmo
Elmo brings its eclectic culinary vibe to Chelsea.
Elmo Restaurant Review:
For those who wonder about its provenance, Elmo takes its name from a supper club once frequented by members of the Rat Pack during the dining and dancing heydays of the 1950s and 1960s. And the décor is a revamped take on the original. Pink walls and rich brown leather banquettes in a dimly lit space create a chic vibe in the lounge area. Sleek multi-colored geometric patterns decorate the wall along the bar while Art Deco-style spotlights reflect off accents of gold chrome, working together with red walls and blue chairs in the dining area for a playful atmosphere. It all sets the stage for the creative menu which successfully incorporates global flavors. Choose the spicy Szechuan peppercorn-crusted tuna with glutinous rice and bok choy in a soy-saké broth or the Kobe beef chili with cheddar cheese and red onions to sample an Asian-inspired take on a comfort food original. Wash it all down with one of several robust cocktails on offer---just like the Rat Pack would have done.
