Elske Restaurant Review:
David Posey (former chef de cuisine of Blackbird) and Anna Posey (ex-pastry chef of The Publican) are behind Elske in the West Loop. Guests can order à la carte or indulge in the tasting menu (with or without pairings), which might present dishes like broccoli and amaranth fritter with spicy date jam; duck liver tart with buckwheat and salted ramps; and roasted sturgeon with fried artichoke, caviar and lovage. Named after the Danish word for “love,” the restaurant re-creates the experience of dining in a Scandinavian friend's living room. Indeed, that intimacy is formed the minute diners set foot inside the courtyard, flanked on one side by a fireplace. Indoors, clean lines and light fixtures evoke a modern feel, but the light wood keeps the vibe bright and airy.
