Old-school steakhouse serving quality dry-aged meat and robust cocktails.
Empire Steak House Restaurant Review:
With owners who worked a combined two decades at Brooklyn steak institution Peter Luger and who founded the mini steakhouse chain Ben & Jack’s, it’s safe to say any hungry carnivore is in good hands at Empire Steak House. Sip a martini or a glass of wine (there are nearly 350 different options, including a handful by the glass) and peruse a menu of appetizers, seafood and, of course, steak. Tuna tartare is a nice palate-refreshing way to start before moving on to the heartier stuff. The porterhouse for two, which comes out on a sizzling plate, is crispy on the outside and tender inside, just as it should be. There are also ample amounts of non-steak items, such as salmon, crab cakes, and truffle mac ‘n’ cheese. For dessert try the tiramisu, which means “pick me up” in Italian. After eating this much, you may need just that.
