Felix Continental Cafe Restaurant Review:
Orange County has very few authentic Cuban restaurants, so Felix is practically an institution for Havana aficionados. The restaurant’s location, right on the historic circle in Old Towne Orange, gives it even more appeal as a place to hang out on the sunny sidewalk. Breakfast is only served on the weekends, and includes American favorites like pancakes, as well as Spanish and Cuban options such as huevos rancheros or tortilla de platanos. At lunch, try the classic Cubano sandwich with roast leg of pork, ham, Swiss cheese and mustard, or the fricase de pollo --- chicken and potatoes served in a sauce consisting of olives, raisins and dry cooking wine. Heartier plates hit the menu at dinner, including slow-roasted pork leg with bitter orange, shredded beef served in a Cuban-style Creole sauce, and several Caribbean-inspired meat and seafood dishes. The small list of libations is highlighted by sangría and Cuban cocktails like the mojito.
