THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fidele's Seafood Restaurant Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED From cow's feet to callaloo, this Haitian restaurant offers a number of traditional island foods at hard-to-believe prices. Although self-labeled a seafood restaurant, it will feed you barbecued ribs, fried chicken, oxtail, or vegetable stew---and for less than a fiver. Fish offerings, of course, are served and also are bargains---where else can you get a whole red snapper, succulently cooked in brightly flavored tomato broth, plus salad, rice, fried plantains, and a small cup of fiery slaw for $7? Fidele's décor suggests a Haitian version of a greasy spoon, yet its fried items, from shrimp to conch to whole fish, are virtually greaseless. Try a glass of cold Haitian beer, a perfect extinguisher for the fire of this potently-spiced fare.
