The Fifth Floor Restaurant Review:
Chef Jonas Karlsson puts together an exciting daily-changing menu, taking the finest seasonal ingredients and enhancing them with smart touches. Expect the likes of beef carpaccio with truffle oil, garlic chives and Grana Padano to start. Follow that with clam tagliatelle with sun-dried tomatoes, cream sauce and Parmesan, or grilled Atlantic wild halibut with shaved cucumber, asparagus, samphire and grapefruit sauce. The sourcing is impeccable, hardly surprising as Harvey Nichols prides itself on its top food hall which to Londoners outdoes Harrod’s and Fortnum & Mason and definitely has the fashionable edge on its rivals. The wine list is similarly impressive, so ask the knowledgeable sommelier’s advice for some first-rate bottles which are not greedily marked up. Service is as smooth and friendly as you could hope for anywhere.
