Fifth Season Restaurant Review:
Fifth Season is a homey two-story restaurant in Port Jefferson Village. Chef-owners John Urbinati and Erik Orlowski pride themselves on providing a dining experience featuring farm-raised meats and organic produce. In keeping with the restaurant’s name, the menu changes every 12 weeks, and the quality of the food encourages return visits to enjoy the eclectic offerings. On any given week, the menu may feature choices like an artisanal cheese plate, butternut squash tamale, honey-spiced Long Island duck breast with Brussels sprouts, or an American Kobe beef burger. A bar menu and list of side orders to share at the table encourage a convivial dining experience. Cocktails range from a Bartlett pear and ginger option to a pomegranate and anise martini. There are local tap beers and a variety by the bottle. Local wines are a highlight, with special by-the-glass selections to complement the menu.
