FIREHOUSE American Eatery + Lounge Restaurant Review:
FIREHOUSE plays many roles, from breakfast joint and family-friendly daytime eatery to post-beach party place. The restaurant has undergone a million-dollar redesign, and chef Jason Maitland is now in the kitchen. Maitland’s revamped menu takes the beachside spot to new heights with the likes of four-cheese polenta tots, melon and burrata salad, Maine lobster rolls, grilled octopus, ahi poke, gourmet burgers and more. His brunch features specialty Bloody Marys from different regions like the Southwest with mezcal and spice, and the house version jazzed up with a garnish of onion ring, potato, spare rib and mini dog. Try the tasty Bloody Mary flight to discover your favorite. San Diego's most decadent dish arrives as Maitland's Krispy Kreme “Benny,” with two Krispy Kreme donuts decked with maple-peppercorn bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. In addition to hearty food and craft cocktails, guests enjoy lovely sunset views and sea breezes on the deck. Wednesday means a live band, and DJs entertain Thursday through “Sunday Funday,” when the rooftop lounge is packed with revelers enjoying bottle service and casual eats, socializing in the sun.
