Fish Gaucho
An upscale take on Mexican food with just the right touches of urban, rustic and festive.
Fish Gaucho Restaurant Review:
Fish Gaucho, from the same team behind nearby Pappy McGregor’s, combines a boldly stylish interior with a menu that aims to celebrate traditional Mexican flavors in an upscale presentation. The cuisine is still finding its way, but among the more successful dishes are those which aren’t overthought or overdressed, such as the pork pozole, the sautéed diver scallops, and the ground chorizo/beef torta with cotija and a fried egg. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with either the churros or the dolce de leche bread pudding. The 85-plus-selection line-up of tequilas and mezcals will please both the happy hour crowd and the aficionado, plus there’s a good list of local wines and craft beers on tap.
