THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Five50 Pizza Bar Restaurant Review:
Décor features a black-and-white mural of vintage photos and walls filled with chalkboards listing beers on offer and fun sayings. The lunch and dinner menus include charcuterie, salads, pasta and the signature pizzas, with lunchtime adding soups and sandwiches, and at dinner small plates. The restaurant’s name is derived from the temperature at which the wood-fired pizzas, a cross between thin-crust Neapolitan and New York style, are cooked. The pies come in a generous 16-inch portion, but slices of the most popular pizzas are served, including the "Forager" --- white sauce, mushrooms, bacon, Brussels sprouts and ricotta. While you may come for the pizza, you might return for the small plates, perhaps the 48-hour, red wine-marinated pork belly crostini topped with whipped pimento ricotta and grilled peaches; or beef carpaccio with Piedmontese beef, pluots, Marcona almonds and pecorino pepato. A craft beer list with 12 taps and 34 bottle selections presents a wide range of beer styles, such as locally-brewed CraftHaus Evocation Saison and Joseph James American Lager. Finish with the french toast-like crispy sourdough fritters with peach caramel glaze, limoncello sabayon and blackberries.
