If the parking lot is filled with mobs of people instead of cars, it’s a sure sign that crawfish season has hit. Floyd’s Cajun Kitchen is ground zero for mudbug mania. His kitchen turns out perfectly boiled crawfish, with feisty seasonings that’ll make you reach for a cool beer. Fried seafood is lightly breaded and free of grease; for a terrific introduction, try the platter, which includes moist catfish, humongous shrimp, a frog’s leg and stuffed crab. Gumbo and jambalaya are also reliably outstanding choices. The dark-rouxed gumbo, loaded with crab and shrimp, is unusually mild; pepperheads will want to add a dash or three of Tabasco.
