Fontanarosa Restaurant Review:
This Sardinian eatery, together with its enclosed patio, is a treasure for fans of the flavorful Italian island fare that chef Flavio Mascia puts together. Start with malloreddus, small Sardinian gnocchi-like pasta with tomatoes, sausage and fennel. Next try the fregola, little pearls of pasta with clams and bottarga (smoked and dried fish roe). These delectable fish eggs make their appearance again in a dish of scrambled eggs or spaghetti. A true delight! You must also experience the culurgionis, Sardinian ravioli filled with ricotta, lemon zest, orange and saffron. Well-chosen wines including some good Sicilian selections. Prix-fixe at €30 and à la carte around €60.
