The Forge In the Forest Restaurant Review:
The Forge is a Carmel landmark --- it has been a locals' hangout since the late 1970's. Outdoor tables and a casual vibe make this a good place to people-watch and pass an afternoon or evening. The kitchen turns out reasonably priced and predictable comfort food: short ribs that have been braised for hours, pizzas, steamed mussels and clams. But stay tuned, as new executive chef Alfonso Martinez has been tweaking the menu, lightening some things up and adding his own personal stamp.
