THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Forte Restaurant Review:
Big city chic meets small-town convenience at Birmingham's ultra-cool gathering place for hip and stylish thirtysomethings. The bar is often packed, but the crowds don't interfere with the restful ambience of the dining room’s curved banquettes and soothing tones of blue and green. The open kitchen and mirrored wall create an illusion of spaciousness, and the menu is nothing if not eclectic. Start with Szechwan calamari, smoked salmon or cavatelli and follow with filet mignon, Lake Superior whitefish or roast chicken breast. Crème brûlée and chocolate-banana cake are among dessert offerings.
