Frank Fat's Restaurant Review:
Frank Fat's is a Sacramento institution, its refined cuisine and elegant setting attracting the city's bigwigs for more than seven decades. The Fat's empire continues to expand, but the original location remains popular for power lunches and celebration dinners. The menu features a selection of dishes from each of the four main Chinese cuisines: Cantonese, Szechwan, Peking and Shanghai. Appetizers include fried pork dumplings, cumin-spiced lamb skewers and salt-and-pepper calamari, while mains include brandy-fried chicken, Peking duck and curry beef short ribs. Or, bring in your own wild duck, goose, pheasant or other game in advance and the kitchen will marinate it in Frank Fat’s own special sauce and serve it up. Wash it down with a specialty cocktail, such as the lychee martini or Madam Chang, a blend of creme de cocoa, creme de menthe and half and half.
