Fresh Catch Restaurant Review:
Chef/owner Reno Henriques grew up next to Kaneohe Bay and spent much of his childhood fishing, diving and trolling in the ocean, then attended the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon, where he honed his culinary skills. His background is what has made his poke store so successful, with more than two dozen different varieties offered each day, including his best-selling teriyaki furikake salmon poke and shoyu ahi poke. He also offers dry aku poke, which is best eaten with his special taegu dressing (a sweet Korean sauce). Henriques can mix your poke to order as well. You can get your poke by the pound, as a poke bowl (with rice) or plate lunch style with a variety of rotating daily specials, like pasteles, smoke meat and beef stew. Cold beer, soft drinks and red velvet chocolate chip cupcakes are available to round out your meal.
