Garden Market Restaurant Review:

Lingering al fresco surrounded by water fountains and garden features is the main draw at this locals’ spot. A cup of organic tea, or perhaps a mate latte, and a stroll on the adjacent beach is also part of the allure. Passersby, too, are charmed into the garden-like restaurant. Ingredients are unfailingly fresh, the portions dainty. A baby arugula salad is topped with shaved Parmesan and house vinaigrette. Toasted ciabatta contains sandwich fixings like Brie, roasted turkey, tri-tip and albacore tuna. Even hearty specials like meatloaf (made with turkey and mushroom) and lasagna (the house-made marinara is mild and light) have something of a delicate quality. There’s always a quiche of the day, and the affixed market is stocked with gourmet groceries and some of Santa Barbara County’s best wines.
