Gloria’s Restaurant Review:
We have lots of favorites on Gloria’s funky menu of Salvadoran food and Tex-Mex choices. We like the charbroiled items such as the juicy shrimp and the crusty flank steak the best; also the cheese-filled pupusas, tender tamales, and the bisteck ranchero (a thin piece of beef in a very spicy tomato-based sauce). But remember, when the menu says hot, it means it. The Mexican part of the menu is not as exciting as the Salvadoran side, and offers everyday dishes like enchiladas, nachos and tacos. Definitely get flan for dessert---not the insipid chocolate one, but the vanilla one, with its caramel sauce. A soupy, nicely seasoned salsa, with chips, and a killer black bean dip, teamed with a frosty margarita can tide you over while you study the extensive menu, and it’s best if you order a lot and plan on sharing.
