Golden Horse Restaurant Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Golden Horse Restaurant is located in a bleak warehouse-style building on a distinctly non-gentrified block in Old Town. The atmosphere barely improves once you enter the cavernous dining area. But you'll find surprisingly good and authentic Chinese food making up for the dire appearance.
Food & Drinks: The vast menu offers all the conventional choices, and also some surprises, and in huge portions. The best dishes are in the seafood category, including the sweet-and-sour whole fish, salt-and-pepper fried squid and, for the adventuresome, chewy jellyfish served with peppery sliced pork legs. Pickled chicken feet, for those who enjoy their gelatinous charms, are some of the best in town. Be sure to sample the fried chicken stuffed with sweet rice. There's a limited beer and wine list; a Chinese brew is probably the optimal choice.
