THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Restaurant Review:
At this Chattanooga-founded national brewpub chain, the food ranges from brick-oven pizzas made with hand-tossed house-crafted dough to shrimp and chicken dumplings with Asian barbecue sauce---plenty for two or three to share as there are a half dozen of these plump pillows on the plate. The burgers may be the best thing on the menu---try the Kobe sliders. Plenty of steak and seafood, though, welcomes the heartier appetite. The beers brewed on site are quite good, if not the best in town. We vote for the Czech Pilsner, with its intriguing slightly bitter aftertaste. But the Märtzen, with its amber color, shows layers of flavor. Unless you specify a quarter liter, you'll get a half liter (or pint). Desserts are fairly ho-hum. Don't expect much from the wine list; this is suds country after all. Best seating is on the covered patio with a view of the Midtown skyline. Inside, the music levels can be on the harsh side. Check out the good happy hour deals.
