THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Graffiti Restaurant Review:
Chef Jehangir Mehta knows how to create a party; that is, a dinner party. With a menu of small dishes that range from seemingly cautious to overtly creative, Graffiti encourages diners to bring together a pastiche of tastes to build a meal that’s every bit as colorful as the restaurant’s name. The space seats just 18, but every detail --- from the décor to the food --- has been thoughtfully considered. As you ponder the savory and sweet flavors that make up the tapas selections, you’ll rethink your preconceptions of how a dining experience should play out. Some of the dishes are spicy, like the tandoor chicken flatbread with cucumber raita, while others have a dessert-like crunch, such as the braised pork buns given a snap with puffed rice. The chili pork dumplings offset with grapefruit confit meld spicy and tart components. Desserts continue the theme: try the warm truffle almond strawberries served with pepper ice cream. Plates are divided into three price groupings, so you can mix-and-match and perhaps even share with the people at your communal table; this is a friendly restaurant from the chef to the servers.
