Grand Concourse Restaurant Review:
It's fitting that Grand Concourse, situated in a rehabbed train station, appeals most to those visiting Pittsburgh for a short period of time. The main dining room (the former station concourse) boasts a glorious Tiffany stained-glass vaulted ceiling and a grand staircase. Marble, brass and mahogany underscore the architecture’s Edwardian splendor. In the glass-enclosed River Room, large windows frame the city’s dramatic riverfront views. The menu presents an array of seafood, pasta, poultry, beef and then some. But the specialty is Sunday brunch --- an all-you-can-eat buffet, offering everything from fresh fruit to salmon --- and especially sweet temptations from the pastry team. This restaurant is high-volume. Don’t expect superlative food. The ambience is the highlight. The wine list offers bottles with a price point for everyone.
