THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Greek Flame Taverna Restaurant Review:
Greek Flame took over an old pizza place, painted the building the color of the ocean and opened this small taverna alongside busy S.R. 436. The family-run dining room gets busy most nights, and with just a handful of tables, there's likely to be a wait. But the service is efficient and gracious, and it's easier to wait for a delicious entrée if you order a bowl of tzatziki and warm pita bread for dipping. Or share a plate of dolmadakia or a crisp helping of kalamaria. The appetizers make a wonderful meal, but we were happy to see a whole red snapper on the menu the night we visited. The fish arrived at our table with a crisp coating, the meat tender and flaky---a perfect way to serve such a fresh catch. If you're there for the Greek specialties, try the combination platter with gyro meat, dolmadakia, moussaka and pastitio, served with a Greek salad and pita bread. If you want a lighter creation, try the village salad: tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, Greek peppers, olives and feta cheese with pita bread for wrapping and dipping. And can anyone resist the tray of sweet and flaky baklava?
