Green Bamboo Restaurant Review:
Germantown Parkway is known for strip mall after strip mall of chain restaurants and big box retail, but Green Bamboo is a hidden gem that almost gets lost amidst all of that. Low lighting and bamboo wood décor lend the place a classy ambience. The menu features pho, the Vietnamese noodle soup, with more than ten varieties available. Pho ga, a white chicken noodle soup, is appropriate when you’re feeling a little under the weather, and the bun bo hue, sliced beef in an aromatic broth, is good any day. A traditional banh mi sandwich will satisfy hearty appetites. Vegetarian selections include a curry tofu and a spicy lemongrass tofu dish cooked with onions, among others. There’s even a kids’ menu with such offerings as chicken fried rice and beef noodle soup. All desserts are made in-house, including the fresh mango pie. The small wine list offers labels from California, Italy, Chile and Australia.
