THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Green Room Restaurant Review:
This chic eatery and late-night lounge brings the big city to Burlington. Owner James Ryan and executive chef Dave Pratt are consummate hosts with a focus on atmosphere. Their relaxed seating and “shared plates” selections create a seductive ambience, where guests can huddle around dishes, sampling at will. With sexy house beats and entrées like venison carpaccio, the mood is decidedly chill. Pratt’s eclectic menu favors fusion over convention, with unusual pairings, like foie gras and rum-spiced french toast. A sweet twist on the Quebec delicacy, it’s wildly indulgent, but sized to snack, and well balanced against maple and fresh fig. Also noteworthy is the tender (if tiny) Cavendish quail, locally sourced and glazed with rich hoisin. Service is friendly, though couches warrant fewer visits from the staff, and clientele can border on elitist as the hour grows late.
