Hog Heaven Restaurant Review:

Hog Heaven, located near Centennial Park, specializes in pulled pork. As Nashville has no distinctive barbecue tradition of its own, unlike Memphis, the standard sauce is more Memphis-style: sweet, smoky and slightly thick. But if you prefer unorthodox saucing, ask for the mayonnaise-based signature white sauce with the peppery kick. It’s memorable, especially with the pulled smoked chicken. House-made cobblers are satisfying and so are the traditional Southern sides: slaw, turnip greens, black-eyed peas, barbecue beans. Come up to the window, place your order, and if the weather is pretty, you may savor your food while seated at one of the outdoor tables. No alcohol is served, so make your drink sweet iced tea.
