India Bistro Restaurant Review:

While bigger and fancier restaurants spring up around Ballard, India Bistro keeps doing what it always has: serving simple Indian classics in an unadorned setting. You have to smell the aromas to know what delights await. Lamb kebabs and murgh masala (tandoori chicken marinated in ginger, yogurt, vinegar and spices, and then simmered in spiced gravy) are just a couple of the menu favorites. Naan can be used to soak up the flavor-packed sauces. Soups are a specialty, and range from vegetarian daal (lentil soup) to mulligatawny made with chicken broth, lentils and spices. To cool down the palate, order the soothing vegetable raita. The small wine list is well chosen to complement the cuisine, but beer seems a better match. On weekdays, a lunch buffet is offered.
