India Princess Restaurant Review:
Decent Indian food is rare enough in San Diego County to make a drive to this eatery in San Marcos' Old California Restaurant Row well worth the effort. Chef Jesse Garg hails from New Delhi and for more than a decade his cuisine has had a loyal fan base. The aroma of freshly baked tandoori breads fills the air. Seasonings are well-defined and engaging, whether the dish is as spicy as the two-alarm lamb vindaloo or as mild as the chicken korma. Vegetarians find much to enjoy, including the malai kofta, vegetable balls stuffed with nuts and spice and bathed in a creamy sauce. We also recommend the tandoori chicken. There’s a nice children’s plate, too. The buffet boasts 20-plus dishes daily. On Saturday and Sundays there's a Champagne brunch, but if bubbles do not appeal, there's always mango lassi.
