Members of the Kansas City Barbecue Society, the owners of this smart but casual joint on Montclair’s main drag get it right. From the St. Louis-cut spare ribs to the baby-backs, everything is smoked low and slow over hickory and apple woods. Side dishes are good too, such as cabbage and collards made with smoked turkey, and the mac ‘n’ cheese. The counter service is friendly, and the take-out orders packed to make it home hot and tasty. Assorted pies, baked on premises, include pecan and sweet potato.
