IO Godfrey Restaurant Review:
While just four floors up, the southern-facing view is as impressive as that at any other downtown hotel. An eclectic group --- business people, date-nighters and later, the club crowd --- settles into multiple lounge areas, some indoor, some outdoor, for whimsical drinks such as the Rainbow Sangria or the Nuts and Berries, whose “glass” is a carved out coconut. The casual nightlife atmosphere lends itself to grazing over a few food items. Stars include a pair of seared lamb lollichops, crusted with bourbon-smoked paprika; the crispy black truffle fries; and grilled octopus with quinoa. The pared down sushi menu focuses on subtle and big flavors, from the buttery madai and hirame to the more substantial handmade spider roll. Come winter, heated igloos cover the spots where cabanas once sat, so that private groups can enjoy the roof regardless of the weather. Expect music to play a big factor in the experience, with themed nights such as 80s and 90s, compelling the most buttoned-up to just dance.
