Iron Chef House Restaurant Review:

Not to be confused with the Food Network show of a similar name, this Brooklyn Heights sushi spot resides on a quiet side street. A quartet of chefs working in tandem dishes out some of New York City’s freshest and most interesting sushi dishes. The usuals are all on the menu, from California rolls to spicy shrimp, but opt to be adventurous instead---this is where Iron Chef House really shines. Specials change daily and showcase different combinations of flavors, textures and presentation. An aptly named “volcano” dish arrived flaming, imparting a slightly seared flavor to the tuna. Thinly sliced seared yellowtail was tender and nicely dressed with a drizzle of sesame oil. For non-sushi diners, Iron Chef House offers hot dishes as well. Service is lovely and the room exudes a coziness befitting its tiny size. Waits can be very long at dinner, but order a glass of saké (from the decent-size list) to give you some staying power.
