Italianni's Restaurant Review:
Part of an Italian-food chain hardly less ubiquitous in Mexico City than Sanborns or VIPs, Italianni’s is nonetheless favored by locals, and offers a dependable, comfortable change of pace to visitors. Menu fare is very much of the red-sauce, checkered tablecloth variety, but well done in its modesty. Eggplant Parmigiana is loaded with comfort---and calories---even if it doesn’t transport us to the Via Veneto. Salads are also standouts, with much better than average variety. Children, in all their high-decibel exuberance, are no problema at Italianni’s---family-style pasta platters keep the picky darlings well fed. Wines (even the house selections) are perfectly drinkable as well. That having been said, the décor is well-nigh interchangeable at all branches, and the lighting rather merciless, so this may not be the place for that first date.
