Jeffrey's Grill & Catering Restaurant Review:

Driving for 10 or 15 minutes to mid-Carmel Valley is a great way to evade the coastal fog. Jeffrey’s outdoor patio takes full advantage of that and fills up quickly, especially on the weekends. Service is prompt and friendly. Start breakfast with freshly-squeezed orange or grapefruit juice, then move on to thick slabs of french toast or fresh “Berrycakes.” Lighter options include “Gravel and Moo” featuring house-made granola that’ll make you forget it’s good for you. Lunch options include savory black bean chili with or without meat, and an intriguing eggplant sandwich with hummus and a marinated onion and curry aïoli. Don’t worry carnivores, they’ve got you covered, too --- mesquite-grilled chicken and steak are your friends. Finish up with Martha Washington’s gingerbread. We’re not sure if it’s really her recipe, but we enjoyed the spicy, tender cake, lemon cream and caramel sauce.
