Founded in Birmingham, Alabama, Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q welcomes guests amid the warm tones of wood and brick, and serves food that's full of heart and soul. Servers waste no time cultivating your delight: sweet, steaming cheese biscuits arrive at the table within minutes of your arrival. The barbecue shows the telltale pink "smoke ring," a sure sign of its having spent a long spell over slow-burning wood. The spareribs are especially good --- tender but not overcooked, shot through with a judicious smokiness. There’s also a burger topped with pimento cheese, grilled catfish and a selection of sandwiches and barbecue tacos. For dessert, we suggest the house-made lemon icebox, chocolate cream or banana cream pies.
