Jitlada Restaurant Review:

On the edge of Japantown, just two blocks from the bustling upper Fillmore district, is a special Thai restaurant in a city full of Asian cuisine. Jitlada's sparklingly clean room borders on too sparse --- white walls and linen-covered tables accented with freshly cut flowers. A quiet neighborhood crowd adds a jovial hum to the atmosphere. Sure, pad thai and tom kha gai are on the menu. But there are also a number of home-style Thai dishes that don't reside on every Thai menu. The "Evil Princess" cloaks tender pieces of pork and eggplant with fragrant and spicy coconut curry. Prawns are stuffed with chicken and shrimp, pan-fried and skewered into an orange half arriving in an artful presentation. Nearly all menu items can be made vegetarian. The sweet and humble chef meets with every table after the dinner rush to thank diners for coming.
