THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED joe d's winebar & cafe Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Charismatic restaurateur Joe DiGiovanni sold his namesake Brookside restaurant and wine bar, but owner Shawn Bracken wisely retained the concept. Executive chef Devin Wilson prepares robust food in the tiny kitchen, a space smaller than most suburban closets, and the wine list is fun and flirty. One may find items such as a brown-sugar-brined, double-cut pork chop with potato purée and Maytag blue cheese slaw; jerk peg wing chicken over new potato salad with Jamaican rubdown sauce; and porcini-dusted sea scallops served with a warm couscous salad. Bread pudding is a menu mainstay, but chocoholics will love the "damn good" chocolate cake. The outdoor patio is a favorite haunt that’s ideal for sipping a glass of wine and people-watching.
