Johnny Rockets Restaurant Review:
If you could turn the clock back a few decades, you’d be eating at a place like Johnny Rockets. You’d listen to the jukebox, eat underdone fries and overdone burgers and sip Cokes or milk shakes. And that’s just what today’s twenty- and thirtysomethings are doing. This is really a glorified soda fountain, offering a big dose of nostalgia plus casual eats for every generation. You’ll find more than just burgers: club sandwiches, BLTs, hot dogs, chili dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches are also on the menu. Service may be disjointed and slow; on the other hand, the place is not about haute cuisine. A good destination for a slow trip down memory lane. Also located at Union Station Food Court, 50 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, DC, 202-289-6969; and 11000 S. Hayes St., Pentagon City Mall, Arlington, VA, 703-415-3510.
