Jour de Fete Restaurant Review:
Jour de Fête chef/owner Olivier Mottier is the consummate Frenchman, greeting regulars by name and newcomers with the same genuine hospitality and gratitude of a man who wants you to return again and again. And you will, as much for Mottier’s sincerity and charming smile as for his French foodstuffs and java drinks, including excellent espresso. The casual, petite café, which really hums with habitués during the morning rush, turns out beautifully flaky ham- and Swiss-stuffed croissants, the shards of which flutter in the air like snowflakes, along with quiches laced with spinach and tomatoes, market fresh salads, house-made soups and très bon sandwiches---most notably the pan bagnat, the classic French tuna niçoise pressed between a crusty baguette.
