Jumbo Seafood Restaurant Review:
After decamping from Chinatown to tony Newton, the owners of this Hong Kong-style seafooder sold the original branch to focus on their sophomore effort. While it’s swankier than the original --- it even has a decent bar --- the food is on par. Appetizers include pan-seared seafood dumplings, crispy crab Rangoon, and shrimp tempura as well as honey-glazed barbecue baby-back ribs, aromatic chicken wings and pork strips. House specialties feature steamed whole fish, surf ‘n’ turf and sautéed jumbo shrimp with honey roasted walnuts. There’s a nice selection of rice and noodle dishes along with vegetarian options. Weekend dim sum features salt and pepper calamari, steamed ravioli, and clams with black bean sauce.
