Kanpai Japanese Restaurant Restaurant Review:
With so many sushi places in the metro area, Kanpai might fall short of its local competition, but it does produce an array of Japanese-inspired fare. The sushi may seem mass-produced, but if you would prefer, order up the dinner (or lunch) bento box with your choice of three different portions and prices of sushi. You can also tuck into the katsudon (fried pork chop) served over rice, or for something more familiar, some teriyaki specials, or a bowlful or two of noodles. The kitchen should get a few good marks for its unusual array of appetizers, including deep-fried soft-shell crab.
