The Keg Steakhouse & Bar Restaurant Review:

Part of a chain of restaurants throughout North America, The Keg has become a fixture for steaks in Old Montreal. The location is an aged commercial building with dark wood and leather décor that’s elegant and comfortable. Service is reliable and often lively, as is the bar section where martinis are the after-work, pre-dinner drink of choice. Steakhouse standards are solid and feature some interesting cuts and preparations, such as the thick and substantial baseball top sirloin. Prime rib is offered in a variety of surf ‘n’ turf variations. Appetizers also widen the range of possibilities: baked goat cheese comes in crushed almonds with a tomato basil salsa, while Dungeness crab cakes are hand-formed and served with a dill caper mayo. The kids’ menu includes smoothies and smaller servings of sirloin steak and barbecued chicken breast. Expect generous portions and consistent execution. The site is ideal for a stroll by the harbor area afterwards.
