King Noodle Restaurant Review:
Don’t be fooled by the overwrought kitsch of this popular, casual Bushwick restaurant: the tile floor, mirrored walls and disco ball are left over from the previous tenant, a Dominican watering hole. The trippy Martian-like murals on the wall were done by a local artist and the strips of red, blue and purple Christmas lights that run along the ceiling were hung by the owners. Food-wise, the kimchi carbonara is better than it sounds: eggy lo mien noodles wrapped around bacon and kimchi with Doritos sprinkled on top. The chips give it a nice, cheesy textural crunch. Adventurous eaters may also enjoy the Spam fried rice or the mapo tofu with chili cheese fries. More traditional affairs also tempt: the green curry flat noodles with bamboo is addictive. Wash it all down with a highball or mai tai.
