THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Gastronomia Restaurant Review:
A husband-and-wife team brings a sense of homespun charm to their bright yellow Mediterranean café, as well as some of the best budget-Italian food for miles: Fresh, uncomplicated, tasty and authentic. Thin crust pizzas are a fine way to start, as would be selecting from one of numerous salads and carpaccios. Pastas are homemade and firm-to-the-bite, sauces sprightly and steaks cooked just right, but to visit La Gastronomia and not partake of the orata (sea bream) or spigola (sea bass) that get flown in from Spain is to visit Orlando and skip Disney World. Both fish are divine, but we prefer the orata, roasted with potatoes, tomatoes, black olives and herbs, then filleted tableside. Not bad for $21---in fact, you might not find a better seafood dinner for that price anywhere. Homemade desserts like mango torte with walnut crust are good too, and service is extremely friendly.
