La Ripaille Restaurant Review:
The romantic, inn-in-the-city décor remains unchanged since the restaurant opened back in 1979: a tiny bar and a cozy room with huge cross beams overhead. The menu also hasn't changed much. The Champagne brunch is still fun and well worth lingering over, the herb-packed omelet still enchants, and for lunch the warm duck confit on a bed of spinach will not disappoint. Nor will the sliced lamb with herbs de Provence or the poached cold salmon in a light caper mayonnaise. At dinner, the options abound; we suggest the chicken breast in brown sauce with bacon and mushrooms, or the aged shell steak in peppercorn sauce served with french fries. For a sweet end to your meal, try the white chocolate mousse or a seasonal pastry tartelette. Inexpensive wines from Cahors, Buzet, Corbières, Ventoux and Gascogne offer authentic regional flavors from France.
