Land of a Thousand Hills Restaurant Review:
This simple former residence was the birthplace of a concept: how to benefit Rwandan farmers and help the country recover after its devastating civil war while producing top-flight coffee. The founders say they pay the farmers higher-than-Fair Trade prices and participate in projects in Rwanda, such as operating a sustainable farm for orphans. Local churchgoers gather after services and the going-to-work crowd drops in weekdays for muffins or a bagel and coffee. Coffee is made from Rwandan beans roasted in house and ground as used. Order either French press, Chemex or a pour-over and relax with your cuppa and a pastry on the patio on lazy weekend afternoons. For lunch, grab a wrap or a slice of quiche. Return weekend nights for live music. Also located on the Westside at Atlantic Station, 232 19th St., #7100, 470-344-0197, which also offers beer and wine; and in Cumming's Midway Park Shopping Center, inside The Warehouse, 5095 Post Rd., 678-947-4142, which serves only coffee.
