THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Langley's on the Green Restaurant Review:
Langley’s chef-owner, a town resident and advocate, knows how to be a good neighbor. Thoughtful touches abound: first-name greetings plus catch-up conversations with regulars, happy hour, mix-and-match appetizers for sharing, menu items tagged with wine suggestions, parting gift bags with a pastry for tomorrow morning. Locals are as apt to choose the restaurant for after-work unwinding or for a celebratory meal, though the mood (and prices) lean upscale. Likewise, the cuisine and presentation aim to be special, a cut above. It begins with a tasty crab cake on brioche, a stretch-platter of satisfying pork pot stickers and a melodramatic martini glass of coconut prawns smoking on dry ice. Nightly specials tend to include a themed quad---perhaps filet mignon four ways: Wellington, surf ‘n’ turf, pepper-crusted with whisky reduction and Cab reduction with truffle mash---a grand slam choice. Thankfully, all gimmicks aside, the food is noteworthy on its own. The dining room feels genteel but casual, the service homey and attentive. A selective wine list includes several intriguing flights and by-the-glass options.
