At Last Cafe Restaurant Review:
At Last Café seems too dignified-looking to be a diner, but its casual attitude and all-American menu remind you of a good one. Former hotel chef John McLaughlin turns out solid comfort food, and prices for his generously plated entrées hover around $10. After a nostalgic green goddess salad with avocado and cucumber, consider the brick-flattened grilled chicken (a half bird), home-style meatloaf or flat-iron steak served with sautéed mushrooms and caramelized onions, or the toasted breadcrumb-topped mac ‘n’ cheese. The pan-toasted seasonal vegetable of the day can hit the spot if you're looking for something lighter. Sandwiches like the classically prepared Cuban are also nice options. For dessert, there’s chocolate bread pudding or apple crumble.
