Le Chacha Restaurant Review:
Julien Labrousse, the young owner of the famous Hôtel du Nord, and Thomas Langman, famous as well, but as a movie producer, opened this club-restaurant: a bar and reception room on the ground floor, living room and smoke room upstairs, along with a music studio. Endowed with comfortable black leather-upholstered armchairs, burgundy velvet couches and lavish rugs on the dark hardwood floor, the place is wholly decorated with antiques, like a peculiar grandfather clock from the fifties and a big stuffed hawk prominently sitting in the middle of the room. The soft lighting adds the final touch to that old spot of Les Halles --- the former wholesale food market of Paris --- exuding a perfume of nostalgia. Apparently the trendy, youthful clientele likes the concept and seems to also fancy the cuisine of the chef: aromatic salads, pumpkin carpaccio, pastas, beef filet with foie gras sauce, and profiteroles flavored with chocolate, caramel and strawberry.
